About

Pocket Playbook started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of games we were stuck on. At some point we figured we might as well write the stuff down properly, so others could skip the frustrating parts and get to the fun.

Every game we cover gets played on real phones, not emulators, and usually across a few days so we can see how a title holds up past the first shiny hour. We take our own screenshots, jot down control quirks, and note the moments where the tutorial quietly abandons you.

We pick games from all over the place — fishing sims, tactics-heavy strategy titles, racers, RPGs. If it runs on a phone and has enough depth to write about, it's fair game. We avoid anything that's just a wallet with a loading screen.

The goal is simple: make guides we'd have wanted when we were the ones swearing at the screen at 1am.
